The Re-union

All week my heart ached for him

I longed for his warm embrace

I wanted him

He had opened the fountain of love within me

 

But there was a complication

We had said goodbye in an awkward situation

Something grave had happened

It made him mad at me

But love was over powering

He told me he was good

I believed him

Boooy, he lied

Once I turned my back

It started eating at him

My attempt to have him talk to me was futile

This left me in tears

My heart ached

I was in so much pain

I needed him to talk to me

I tried and tried

I gave up

I told myself

Start over

You can forget him

But I couldn’t

I refrained from reaching out

Then one day

He reached out

Yes he reached out

My heart soared like an eagle

Higher it went, above the clouds

Oh life was good

My heart sang in joy

Isn’t love a beautiful thing

I was going home to a warm embrace I dreamt of
