Breastfeeding Queen and Prince

Breastfeeding has always been one of my most exciting moments of motherhood!  The little fingers and legs being pushed into my mouth...the eye lock and one feels the bond and understanding between  us growing. The faces and sounds we would make. One being a copy cat! It could be me leading or Queen leading... if one of us failed to do it right, we would go in a fit of laughter. Sweet moments!
Same experience with the Prince, he was this big baby and would hold tight on to his food. He had and still has a very infectious smile. So pure and would just win one over.
I miss having babies in my arms!

Having such massive boobs as mine, I was always forced to sit while I fed Queen and Prince! Best to cover your breasts as you go to sleep as it might start jetting while both of you are sound asleep and if it hits the nose, the baby can easily suffocate or choke...it will kick it's legs and flay hands in an attempt to survive. If you are dead asleep, things will go bad ...sleep has such a big strong head, so if you attempt to feed while lying down especially the night feeding, your boobs can suffocate the baby (blocks nose and mouth) or after baby is full , milk will continue coming out (flowing) and baby can choke from it...so please sit while breastfeeding and enjoy the moment! Make it fun

Ahaaa! Teething period! Wait until the gum becomes itchy , the Queen would grind her teeth on my tits! Yeah, wondered why mothers yelp sometimes while they breastfeed?
Back home, a slap sounds across the tiny cheeks. It's more of a reflex I think. I never hit Queen or Prince, but definitely screamed my lungs out. The kind of scream that draws the attention of the baby, they jerk their heads off the tits immediately and search a mother's eyes with concern. If they realise it was them that caused the scream (my imagination here) they beam with a smile and return to feed immediately.

During my nursing time, I was lucky and privileged to use breast pumps whenever I was out of home longer than usual. I remember one day while at work during Queen's reign; for some reason I can't fathom (because I didn't eat unusually) by 1:00pm; all my 6 breast pads were soaked up and the milk penetrated the heavily cushioned bra and made a map onto my blouse.  Luckily for me, I had an understanding supervisor then who allocated me a driver to go nurse and return.  I hated expressing milk out but for every mother who has breastfed out there knows how painful accumulated milk can hurt! The breast turns hard like a stone. Pray you don't collide on anything or brush your breasts on anything, like anything, just a mere touch would send a wave of pain! Even the wind blowing on your boobs would feel like (I don't know how to explain the pain); but just know, it's too painful...I breastfed all my kiddos and will do the same for those yet to come my way...cut the crap that breastfeeding spoils your boob shape, makes them look like socks etc...employers should allow breastfeeding mothers nurse while at work (nurseries should be created); more maternity days added (impacts negatively on production at work- but this can be an option and must be explored); give some hours split up or taken whole for nursing mothers to go feed their bundle of joy; mothers, always express milk before you leave your baby's side, while at work and send to the baby as opposed to expressing and refrigerating, however this can be an option....

There are massive benefits of breastfeeding  to your child among them proper brain development, may reduce disease risks, provide important antibodies, provide ideal nutrition!

Breastfeed every child...there is no shame in feeding your child or feeding your child publicly
