My shield and Pillar

I don't recall when we started talking. He is an intellectual writer and I love reading especially reading sensible writings. That is how I always liked or commented on his posts on one of the various social media platforms.
One day during an outreach activity, we "brushed" at one another. He didn't notice me and I wasn't really looking so I missed him too. I think I later received a message from him saying we missed each other...fast forward. He started encouraging me in the diabetes initiative that many already know about. Before I knew it, he was one of my pillars! Keeping me firm in the drive.
So this past diabetes concert in October, he was right there on time despite being under the weather. He stayed on. I have no idea what time he left, but after midnight for sure. After my speech. He called me aside and shocked me with his words. See, not so many give much around here, so truth be told I was overwhelmed. In his words "let me know the gate collection and i will double it"...
True to his word, the funds came through and we are so blessed for such beautiful souls around us 💙. This eased so much for me and the team.
With no funding at the moment, we depend on such generous people around us as we solicit for funds and pray that one day, one day, the money will come through and our dream of having a diabetes centre right here come to life. We believe that we shall touch millions of lives. We believe our people will embrace the tight management of diabetes. We believe people will keep away from type 2 diabetes through understanding what they need to do - physical activity and healthy eating, this sounds simple to do until you try living a healthy lifestyle.
We need all generations with us. Our hearts sink when we lose our parents, and children to diabetes. We fail to meet the strangers that could change our lives because the monster snatched them before we could touch base.
We could not wait to be fully established, with the little we have and that is us, we have started the diabetes fight which we won't leave until we win!
Thank you so much all those who have stood with us from the ideation 'til now.

Jesper Larsen is a special being in my life and has settled somewhere in my heart. He listens to my rants... I disagree with his opinion some times, and i hold on to it...and one might imagine, how do you handle that...we both are humans and me being a headstrong kind of person, and because of this, I know I disappoint many by my opinion on certain issues, but again that makes me me, the human that I am! I will keep the details for another day!

I have faced trials, where the storm has been blinding and Jesper held my hands tight and blocked the harshness from hitting me with full force. He drenched with me in the storm and shielded the stones with his might and i can never repay this, but surely surely, his legacy will live on!

Without you Jesper, my skin would have been slit beyond repair. You held me in position
Thank you papa!
