My day in someone's office

So this afternoon, I walked to an office and three women sat at their desks side by side. The ones on the left and right were fully engaged so I had no choice but to approach one who looked super bored. I handed over my envelope and explained what services I required. She twisted her lips and blurted out; open it and give me what Is inside. I smiled and handed the content to her. She asked for my national ID which she gazed at and asked if I had UGX30,000. I responded in affirmative. Go wash your hands outside and sit there. I asked, “where”; there was the response. I moved out to wash; you might imagine that food was our way…
I was the 5th on the queue (depending on the number of people in the room waiting to be served) and they worked on just one person and as the 2nd person on the queue was being served, the machine broke down. They took two hours fidgeting and not an apology was given. I think with the pressure of the broken machine, people who were making inquiries were being yelled at. First, we must understand that people understand differently and therefore we must learn to be patient with our customers.
So finally my papers are held in hands. There are two options for the service I was seeking, and they chose the alternative as they laughed among themselves. With them was a gentleman who appears to be their superior; I would almost pass him for being nice. He has some heart of kindness. So as I picked my papers back, I asked whether I could have a number to call for inquiry about the broken machine. Lady in the middle absent-mindedly asks me to check for the number at the door. So as I started out, the man asks whether I could leave my number behind and I will receive a call once the machine starts working. At that point all I wanted was some air; so I politely informed him that I would pick their number on my way out and without looking back I moved out. Glad we had all the beauty of the universe to make me forget my experience. The sun shone brightly on my face and I smiled back at it
Eh! Some human beings are something else
